I definitely had a half finished entry… then messed up and hit “create post” instead of “preview”… and in my haste to not publish it… clicked “delete post” and now it’s gone.

Note to self: use word processor from now on.

[edit]
Yea right!
-
I don’t write this stuff down… (except that… I do.) I’m like Jay-Z.
-
-
*reveling in the brilliance of my title*
-
-
-
-
-
Ok, I’m done.
Here it is, draft 2.
-
-
So I did something kinda weird last night…
-
-
It was about 4am, and I realized I didn’t have any clean underwear for the next day…
-
Yep, it’s already getting good.
-
-
So I decided I’d start some laundry, but as an experienced launderer (linens, not money) knows, you can’t just start a load of clothes and leave them in the washer overnight!
-
Otherwise, they grow mildew and smell like dirty sponges instead of daisies or wildflowers or teddy bears.
-
You know what I’m talking about. Sometimes you pull a shirt out of the dresser, give it a quick sniff and think, “Did I wear this already? …And run a marathon in a swamp?”
-
Or sometimes it happens to towels if you don’t wash them for a while? You go to take a shower one day and your towel is… crispy?
-
-
p.s
Don’t judge my hygiene in regards to linen. These are just stories I’ve heard from people. I’m an experienced launderer, remember?
-
-
p.s.s
Did you know that if you stick wet sponges in a microwave for 15-20 seconds, it kills the bacteria that cause mildew to grow? Not only will this make them smell better, but it also makes them last longer! (Props to my neighbors for enlightening me on this).
-
-
So anyways, I pop my clothes in the washer, and have nothing to do for the next hour or so until I can stick them in the dryer.
-
So I did my usual rounds on facebook, tumblr, fantasy basketball…
-
Repeat.
-
Repeat.
-
And after I looked at Sasha Vujacic’s game logs for the tenth time, thought
“Maybe I’ll log on to myspace. See if anything interesting is happening there… At the very least I’ll just respond to the friend requests from various Go-Go dancers/semi nude models. It’s impolite to leave people hanging like that.”
-
-
And then it hit me.
-
-
Xanga.
-
-
That’s right. Some of you may have thought I was kidding about having a Xanga in my previous post. Unfortunately I was completely serious…
So I spent about an hour and a half reading my own and even others’ old Xanga entries, actually well surpassing the wash, rinse, and spin cycles of my undergarments.
-
So.
4:30am… I log on to my xanga
-
-
Almost have a heart attack from the Mae song on autoplay… (At least it’s not Simple Plan.)
-
-
And start browsing around.
-
There were some lowlights…

“Been having a pretty good week, got an A on a group English project for the first time this year. Ironically, I think this was the project we put the least amount of effort into…”
-
I can’t believe I thought people actually cared about that kinda stuff. Good thing I’m blogging about much more interesting things now like my personal laundering habits.
-
-
And there were some highlights!
October 28, 2006
“…I was talking to my two year old cousin on the phone, which was very difficult. I couldn’t understand a word she was saying… except I think she said that she was naked because she spilled apple juice on herself.”
-
-
I think this is hilarious. Could totally see myself sharing a similar story like… tomorrow or something.
And there were some things that made me think, “Some things never change”
January 03, 2007
“I’m not a real touchy person, but I show love in other ways besides physical contact… I need to learn to notice other people and how they try to show love, and reciprocate it to show I care. So yea, those of you who know me, I’m gonna try my best not to squirm away everytime you touch me.”
-
-
Yea… haven’t made a whole lot of progress.
-
-
But let me tell you, the best part of this trip down memory lane was some of the stuff the blogs I subscribed to said. I’ll just leave the Xanga username so as not to completely embarrass the author while not committing plagiarism as well.

“…Are we just romanced by the IDEA of God? Do we think of God as just a weekly flutter in our hearts… as simple beauty that makes our heart beat faster when we’re near it, but ultimately comes and goes with the wind?”

“All I gotta say is, take all your wasted pride and honor, every little past frustration, take all your so called “problems” and put them into quotations. Really, don’t live out the same old moment, because in the end, you’ll know you’d be better off instead if you could only say what you need to say. Even if your hands are shaking and your faith is broken, and even as your eyes are closing, do it with a heart open wide, you will find out that it’s better to say too much then never to say whats bothering you again.”

“I was struggling this morning with temptation.
And God said to me …
“My child, I have provided everything that you will ever need.
Anything more is meaningless.”-regr3tless

“But i realized today that i don’t get a dress rehearsal in this. there will be a direct correlation between the way i am living now and the way that i hope my life will look in x amount of years, or x amount of months or weeks or days. and the direct correlation is that it’s the same life. i don’t know that i’ve ever really been slammed with the reality of this.”

-
I know some pretty insightful people.
-
-
So the funny thing I’d like to point out in all of this, is I feel like sometimes we forget who we are, and where we’ve been.
-
We spend so much time thinking about the future, what we could be, what we aim to be, and we don’t pay enough attention to who we are today, and what got us here.
-
Those words you wrote down in your journal, the feelings you once had, the xanga post you marked as private because it was too scathing and emotional for the general public…
-
At one time, that was true. And that was you.
-
And it’s not something to be ashamed of.
-
I don’t think you can truly understand yourself without reflecting on your past…analyzing the factors and decisions that have brought you to this very point.
-
Take a trip down memory lane. Open up that shoebox of love letters. Laugh at old pictures. Read some of those high school yearbook entries.
-
-
Reminisce a little.
-
There’s something beautiful about remembering where you’ve come from, and being grateful for the journey.
